So the week started off with me getting David from Governor's School in Conway, AR. Then off to softball games for the rest of the weekend except for Sunday morning when I took David to Petit Jean State Park for a 4 1/2 mile hike on the Seven Hollows Trail. This is one of my favorite day hikes in the state. I've done it several times including some trail running. It has almost any kind of terrain imaginable. Of course that's just what you'll have to do. Imagine it. It was raining heavily at the start of the hike and did so intermittently throughout. You can see the sign says it's a 4 hour hike but David and I completed it in about 2. That's with a stop at the natural bridge, turtle rocks and the grotto. Go ahead and imagine. Better yet, imagine the wonderful lunch we had at Mather Lodge (complete with ice box lemon pie!) before heading home.

Above is the gang at the Rivermarket Amphitheater awaiting the start of the Little Rock Orchestra's performance of the requisite patriotic tunes that lead to the fireworks show. They do a good job. They even did some Star Wars tunes just to keep David and McKenna interested.

And the band played on. They had a good size crowd.
And then the finale'!

There is kind of a growth thing on little David's face. What's that all about, or was something on the camera lens?
