Keeping Busy...

Terrific pics, Lisa! Yeahhh Blog! So great of you guys to scout out next summer's family adventure for us. That one will be hard to beat ;-)

Will be working with David, Joe and Jon to get them blog enrolled. In the meantime, in my readings about how to fine tune the thing, I'm told that establishing a Yahoo group for all members would enable everyone to know via email whenever a new entry or comment has been made... we shall see.

Joel and I are moving right along in our efforts to reclaim our old lakehouse. We've had the inspection and will close on the 25th. With the exception of a couple of beds, we should be able to furnish most of the house with excess from this one plus a bunch of stuff Julia had earmarked for charity... that would be us. Most of what we plan to do with the interior is cosmetic, and also aimed at updating and increasing the value of the place. As I've said before, it's mainly lack of attention that the interior suffers from, nothing that really has to be tended to right away. But we will paint the dark paneling and the old blue grasscloth a soft white, and have the fairly new WHITE plush carpet moved to Julia's old bedroom, then have hardwoods put down in the living area. We'll take it slow and hopefully enjoy the process of restoring the house and lakefront to it's potential. When the weather cools we'll be looking for some help selectively clearing the lower 40... guess it's too much to hope for the same crew to pitch in. Would make for a fun Thanksgiving ;-)

So Joe thinks we're nuts for chasing after a used Sunflower, but hey! That was a fun boat that you kids had a great time mastering. Only fair that the next generation has the same opportunity. We'll be looking for other kinds of water gear... whatever we can find cheap. Canoe, paddle boat, kayac... whatever that blue boat was that Joe and McKenna were in in the pics Lisa sent... if you come across a deal, let us know! What I'd love to have would be a small pontoon boat that will run on an electric motor!
