The Plan...

Looks like we've got a tiger by the tail and work starts tomorrow (Wed) on clearing all the trash and taking out some problem trees. This pic shows as small part of the progress we've made so far, two big debris piles show here but there are many more. The leaning tree hovers over the boathouse and shows signs of root rot. If it falls, the boathouse will be shattered so we'll hold our breath while that is removed. Supposedly, all work will be done in two and a half days at most. Guess what! We know what a knuckle boom crane with a grapple basket is ;-) Not that this guy has one, but at least he has a grapple basket and a lift.

Timing isn't good as we will be leaving for Memphis Sat morning, my gallery is giving a dinner for the artists so we will be staying overnight.

Sun morn we'll head for Little Rock to count heads and catch up with happenings there.

Monday morn we will drive to Shreveport where I have a friend who is donating a Sunfish sailboat and trailer to the cause. They used it when her kids were young and it's been in dry dock for years, but should be in decent shape. Will have to get new tires for the trailer and probably a few other headaches to tend to. We plan to be home on Tuesday.

So... here we go, feel like we're riding a bucking bronco as we're not used to moving this fast anymore. The old man (and his [no good] son-in-law) who will be doing the work (for way less than others quoted) is a real study in Southern folklore... very opinionated and lots of prejudices. But he has all the equipment and lots of experience so we'll cross our fingers and hope the job gets done to some degree of satisfaction. KJ
