We're back from a whirlwind trip around the South... first to Memphis to an art party, then to Little Rock for a quick but busy visit... missed seeing Lauren but had fun with David and McK... will put up pics later. Then on to a little town near Shreveport, LA where a friend of mine offered us her old Sunfish sailboat. Her kids enjoyed it but it's been sitting in the woods for 20 yrs and needs some TLC. A trailer was included in the deal and Joel got it up and running after a scavenger hunt around the little town for necessary parts. We discovered a great science project we can share with the kids... fertilizer + water + several years = eaten up aluminum poles! Apparently the lawnman had allowed fertilizer to spill onto the stored mast and sail and it really did a job on them... but didn't hurt the sail! Will take pics and show later.Wed we head back for one last day with the bubbas that are helping us clear the lake lot. The are real characters but the job is getting done... not cleared, but cleaned up and made useable again. Guess I'd better get to bed and rest up for another busy day.
Thanks for posting the pic, Lauren... being happy is a good thing ;-) Will write more soon. KJ
