Easter Weekend

Jon, Becky and kids landed at the lake house Thursday night... about midnight. But all were up early Friday, Julia, Libi and Daisy drove down early, Meisi had to go to school but joined us on Saturday. Unfortunately, although it was beautiful to see, the temps were too cold to spend a lot of time outside so boating was out of the question. They did get some fishing in but he fish just watched.
A little miracle taking place... Meisi has become quite attached to her puppy, losing her fear of small dogs at least... but then Daisy is a favorite with all little kids at soccer games. Note the living room is beginning to take shape, Joe's rugs are a good fit!
Thread the needle! Avoid hitting a car bumper or brick planter while sit-riding a skateboard down the driveway!
Too cold to even eat on the deck! But that didn't bother most.
The perennial question: "What can we do now?" Okay, the plan is to make a giant chess/checkers set for a future gameboard to be painted on the lower deck.
24 pots were given a black and white base to be decorated as desired and used as the movable pieces for checkers. Additions for chess pieces will be designed later. This is an ongoing project... to be continued.

On Saturday, Jon, Julia and Joel headed for the Black Warrior River to watch the University Women's Rowing Team in competition, the rest of us headed for...
An Easter Egg Hunt held at the Northwood Lake Community area and the kids all decided that they were still young enough to participate, so we did.
Small baskets... plus big pockets... provided more than enough candy loaded plastic eggs to last the week.
I found an unexpected Easter surprise... two old friends from a long time ago. That's Sue Sanford and Marilyn Jacobs... we made promises to have lunch soon.

Jon and Becky headed home and we retreated to Birmingham. I'll put up another entry with our B'ham adventures later.
