We had a great visit with brother Jack, didn't do anything exciting other than a trip to the lake house and then down to the lake itself... at a certain age, that's excitement enough. We'd shown him and Mary Fran all the sites worth seeing in the area when they visited last fall so this time it was mostly talking about family... 'do you remember' type conversations. It was good.
Now on to prep for the more exciting weeks ahead. They start next week with both Meisi and Libi in cheerleading and team soccer camps (you can figure out who goes where) and will involve both morning and late afternoon events each day with mid day off. Multiple trips will hopefully involve some carpooling. Jon, Becky and troupe arrive Thursday after a few days at Gulf Shores. Julia does a birthday party dance for both girls on Saturday, but part of the dance is going from plans for a water theme party to plan B due to the drought situation we're having locally. Dang! That water dunking thingy would have been fun!
J&B leave for home sometime over the weekend, taking paintings back to NOLA instead of kids. On Tuesday, Lauren and her entourage will arrive for a few days (?) and entertain the younger kids... you've no idea how much I appreciate! Very Big Grin... ;-) On Wednesday, school starts for L&M... what rotten timing!
Then on either Sat or Sun I will drive the NOLA 4 home, then hang around for a few visits with friends and a gallery run (taking the paintings that Jon had already brought down.) I'll return home on Thursday.
That's not all... Ron and his two oldest will be arriving mid Aug. They'll be traveling to north Florida to meet and greet his mother's family... but that's another story. I'll beg off that trip... methinks I'll be too pooped to pop by that time. But with a big grin on my face!
