Fall Color

Hey Lauren! Glad you gave us the update... you are having a great first year at college, so glad to hear you have a mentor in theater, that will be a big help. Fun to have a boyfriend as well, just keep your priorities straight and stay on target with your goals. (Sorry 'bout that, I can't help myself!) And yes, I do look forward to meeting him. Take some photos of your environment so we can see what life is like for you.
Yesterday's ride to the lake was awsome with color. The day was perfect for a bit of a row before we started back to work on the house. We've yet to have a good sailing day since a good breeze and a warm day aren't likely to happen this time of year. But just wait until spring!

Here you see Grampie with his new 'toy' (which he'll happily share with others) an electric pole saw. Before and after pictures of limbing up lower branches in the way of our lake view.
This was the view we saw as we entered the house yesterday... the hickory trees are bright yellow and are numerous over both lots. Remember that old chandelier kids? UGH! Our old wrought iron table and chairs (originally purchased at a garage sale in Tuscaloosa) are on the deck and that's where we usually have lunch, picking up some Dreamland Barbeque or whatever and bringing it back to the deck. I took the glass top off and put it inside because the acorns are hitting the deck with explosive POWS! and remind me of Grampie J's concern as he would sit out there smoking his pipe... with hat on.
I think Grampie J got a great deal of pleasure from this boat ride, which was also in the fall.
